Yes, minor and major, whether or not you bought them from us. Adjustments, nose pads, screws and small repairs are done while you wait. Larger repairs and replacement parts we send away, and we tell you the cost before we start.

Yes, £25. Bring the form with you and we complete the vision section after your eye test. Tell us when you book so we allow the time.

Yes, there is a toilet you are welcome to use. Level entrance from the street; the testing room is on the ground floor. Tell us when you book if there is anything that would make your visit easier.

Yes, £55, the same as a private eye test. Bring your current prescription, or what you were told elsewhere. We start from scratch, show you what we find on the screen, and tell you plainly whether we agree.

• Private eye test (£55, 45 min · everyone else): Forty-five minutes with your optometrist: twelve checks, a retinal photograph, and time to talk.
• Gold eye examination (£95, 45 min · over 40, screen workers, or anyone who wants the full picture): Everything in the private test, plus the 3D OCT scan of the layers behind the retina, where glaucoma and macular disease start.
• Platinum eye examination (£125, 60 min · eye disease in the family, diabetes, a high prescription, or you want everything): The Gold examination, plus a full visual fields test and extra OCT scans, in an hour.
• Contact lens fitting (£95, 30 min · new to lenses, or switching type): Fitting, trial lenses and teaching. Free trial lenses for first-timers.
• Emergency appointment (Free, 20 min · red, painful, or a sudden change): The same day wherever we can. Free if you’re registered with a local GP, through the NHS urgent eye care scheme; £60 if not.

The school screen isn’t an eye test. Ours is: in 20 minutes we measure the prescription properly, check for a squint or a lazy eye while it can still be fixed, check the two eyes work together, and check the health of the eye inside and out. Pictures and matching cards for the little ones, no letters needed. Every year while the eyes are growing.
