The red he saw one night at the opera in Barcelona, and made his own. A colour, a feeling, a signature.
It began on Via Condotti, in 1959.
A small couture studio at number 11, in the heart of Rome. Valentino Garavani had trained in Paris, and came home with one idea: to make women more beautiful. Women were his muse, and he dressed them to be noticed, in the colour that became his signature: Rosso Valentino, a red inspired by a dress he saw one night at the opera in Barcelona.
More than sixty years on, under creative director Alessandro Michele, the house still dresses the world for its biggest moments. And since 2026 its eyewear has been made with Kering Eyewear, the same makers behind our Saint Laurent and Gucci.

Yes, including varifocals and high prescriptions. We measure and fit the lenses here. Single vision lenses run from £112 to £559, and every option is shown with its price before you decide.
Do you sell Valentino sunglasses?
Yes, and we glaze them with your prescription, including tinted and polarised lenses. Ask when you book and we will have the sunglass collection out for you.
What if Valentino does not suit my face?
Then we will say so, kindly, and show you what does. A name on the frame does not mean it will suit you; that is the first thing we say about every brand. And if you buy and change your mind within sixty days, we change the frame or the lenses at no charge.
How much do Valentino glasses cost?
