ADVANCED LENS TECHNOLOGY FOR CRYSTAL CLEAR VISION

At Abra & Co, we use the latest lens technology to make your World a clearer place

DISCOVER A WORLD OF CLARITY

At Abra & Co, we understand that your vision needs are as unique as you are. That’s why we offer a diverse range of spectacle lenses tailored to meet your specific requirements. Whether you’re seeking single vision lenses or multifocals designed for specific occupations or lifestyle needs, we’ve got you covered.

Do you use 100 year old technology? The answer is probably not. However most spherical lenses are precisely that. The technology is over 100 years old albeit the machines that manufacture the lenses are a lot newer. However there are better lens technologies available now that give you a more natural, clearer level of vision, unlike anything you’ve ever had before.

Whatever your budget is, we have something that will work for you. Our specialist dispensing team will guide you through all options so you know what is suitable and best for your prescription.

WHAT TO EXPECT FROM OUR LENSES

  • Advanced Lens Technology: All our lenses have the latest lens technology within them. We offer specialist surfaced spectacle lenses that are manufactured using a digital surfacing method, which gives you less distortion in the periphery of the lens. The more tailored single vision lenses are also available at additional cost.
  • The World’s Best Reflection Free Coatings: All out spectacle lenses come as standard with an anti reflection coating. For an additional extra you cna upgrade to an industry leading coating, Hoya Meiryo which is guaranteed for two years. If there are any scratches, it replaced for free.
  • Wider, Clearer Vision That Before: The way we measure and prescribe glasses, we promise to make sure that you can see amazingly out out your glasses. This is a combination of a comprehensive eye test, accurate measurements and the right lens chosen for you.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Progressive lenses are designed with multiple visual zones to accommodate both near and distant viewing without the need to switch glasses. When transitioning from focusing on distant objects to reading or looking at something close, it’s best to shift your gaze downward through the lens instead of tilting your head. Although these lenses aim to provide seamless visual transitions, you might notice variations in clarity or slight distortions, particularly along the edges. This is normal as the lens power changes across its surface to support your vision at different distances. For optimal clarity, especially when looking sideways, gently turn your head to align your vision with the central portion of the lens. Familiarising yourself with these subtle adjustments will enhance your experience, allowing you to fully leverage the versatility of progressive lenses for a range of activities.

Sensity™ lenses are special glasses that change color in sunlight. They get darker when you step outside into the sun. On bright days, they turn fully tinted, but on cloudy days, they don’t get as dark. How fast and dark they change can also depend on the weather, especially the temperature. Just remember, when you’re in a car, these lenses won’t get as dark as they do outside, unless you go for Hoya Sensity Dark.

At Abra & Co, once you’ve had your eye test we will explain all the different lens options suitable for your prescription and the pros and cons of each. We will then recommend a few different types of lenses that we think can work for you and suit for needs. You then can decide on what lens you would like to go for and make an informed choice.

For Presbyopia, we offer Progressive lenses equipped with Integrated Dual Surface™ (iD) Technology and Binocular Harmonisation Technology™ (BHT). These technologies ensure lenses are tailored to the individual’s vision, taking into account the differences between right and left eye prescriptions to balance the design performance. The iD Technology shapes lenses for the unique way patients see, while BHT addresses binocular disparity in presbyopic patients, optimizing comfort and visual clarity

Nulux Lenses: These single vision aspherical lenses are designed to provide crisper, clearer viewing zones compared to standard single vision lenses. Nulux TrueForm technology optimises prescription values using 3-dimensional coordinates, significantly enhancing visual acuity and performance across the lens. The technology ensures flatter curvatures for a more aesthetic appearance, especially recommended for patients with higher power corrections. This results in lenses that are not only thinner and flatter but also provide wider vision on the periphery, reducing the need to turn the head to see clearly on the sides.

Nulux iDentity V+ Lenses: These high-tech single vision lenses offer the highest level of accuracy and optical quality through FreeForm technology and a bi-aspheric/atoric design. They are tailored to individual wearing conditions, considering the frame’s wearing position for optimal vision. Nulux iDentity V+ leverages advanced technologies like the Binocular Eye Model and point by point freeform calculation, ensuring unprecedented binocular performance and unsurpassed visual sharpness over the entire lens surface. These lenses are ideal for fashion-conscious patients who demand sharp and unrestricted vision in all directions

We believe that our services should be accessible to as many people as possible, which is why we offer lenses for everyone, at every budget.

We do NHS glasses and free glasses for children. For private clients our single vision lenses start at £89, bifocals at £169 and varifocals at £229.

A revolutionary lens technology designed to slow down the progression of Myopia. These lenses are the first of it’s kind and best in class. If your child is myopic and you have concerns about their myopia worsening, this is the lens they should be wearing full time.

MiYOSMART Lenses: A breakthrough in myopia management for children, MiYOSMART lenses employ the innovative Defocus Incorporated Multiple Segments (D.I.M.S.) Technology, developed in collaboration with The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. This technology has been recognized with prestigious awards, including the Gold Prize at the International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva and the Silmo d’Or Award. MiYOSMART lenses are designed to slow myopia progression in children by providing a defocus effect around the clear central vision area, effectively managing myopia while allowing for clear vision. Clinical studies have shown that wearing MiYOSMART lenses can significantly slow down myopia progression and axial eye elongation in children. These lenses are easy to fit, similar to regular single vision lenses, and come with a durable, easy-to-clean anti-reflective coating, offering UV protection and impact resistance for a child’s active lifestyle.

MiYOSMART Sun lenses extend the benefits of D.I.M.S. Technology to outdoor activities, providing 100% protection from UV-A and UV-B rays while managing myopia. This innovative approach not only addresses myopia progression but also increases eye comfort in intense sunlight, making them a comprehensive solution for children’s vision health and lifestyle.
