Metal and most plastics can be warmed and reshaped. We tell you honestly if a frame is too brittle to risk.
A lens that popped out
Refitted and the frame checked for the reason it came out, usually a loose screw or a stretched rim.
Snapped arms and broken bridges
Some can be repaired in practice. Others need a part from the maker or a specialist solder: we price it first and tell you how long it will take.
New lenses in your own frame

Pop in to any practice. No appointment, no charge, and you do not need to have bought the glasses from us. If we find something that needs more than a tweak, we tell you what it is and what it would cost.
Broken glasses and you cannot see to drive or work?
Ring the practice and say so. We will look at them the same day wherever we can, lend you a temporary fix where there is one, and if the frame is beyond saving we can usually put your lenses into a new frame quickly. If your prescription is more than two years old, that is also the moment for an eye test: free on the NHS if you qualify, £55 privately and free when you buy your glasses.

Questions about repairs
Do you repair glasses you did not sell?
Yes. Adjustments, screws, nose pads and small repairs are done for anyone, usually while you wait. Larger repairs are priced first.
How much does a glasses repair cost?
Adjustments and the glasses MOT are free. Small parts such as screws and nose pads are usually free or a few pounds. Anything that needs a part from the maker or a specialist repair is quoted before we start, so you decide.
Do I need an appointment for a repair?
No. Walk in to any of the five practices in opening hours. If it is a bigger job, we may ask you to leave the glasses with us and we ring you when they are ready.
Can you put new lenses in my old frame?
Usually, if the frame is sound. Single vision, varifocal, thinner lenses and coatings are all possible. We check the frame first and tell you if it is not worth risking. Lens options and prices →
My glasses broke and I cannot see without them. What do I do?
Ring the nearest practice and tell us. We will see you the same day wherever we can and find you a way to manage while the repair is done.
Can you repair sunglasses or designer frames?
Yes, the same way. For designer frames we can also order genuine replacement parts from the maker; that takes longer and we quote it first.
