From the first conversation to the years after you collect them, we walk beside you, explain every step, and stay with you afterwards.

    Discovery

    Before anything else, we get to know you. How you spend your days, what you do at work and for fun, what you loved and what you didn’t about the glasses you have now, and what you’d like people to notice.

    Your eye test

    Forty-five minutes with your optometrist. Twelve checks and a 3D OCT scan, explained on the screen as we go, so you leave understanding your own eyes — and with a prescription that is right for the way you live, not just the test chart.

    Styling

    Your face shape and colouring, the brands that suit you, a shortlist chosen for you rather than a wall to wander. We explain why each frame is there, then swap and compare until one feels like yours.

    The right lens

    Your prescription, your screen hours, your driving, your budget: we walk you through the options and recommend what we’d choose for someone we love. Then careful measurements, so the lens sits exactly where it should.

    Your fitting appointment

    Half an hour set aside for you. Your new glasses fitted and adjusted, how to look after them, and a moment to enjoy the new look.

  6. 6
    Aftercare, always

    A call two weeks in to check you love them. A free Specs MOT to clean, tighten and refit whenever you like. And if anything isn’t right, come back — for as long as you wear them.

Frequently asked questions

How much is an eye test?

Free on the NHS if you qualify. Privately, the 45-minute eye test is £55, the Gold examination with the 3D OCT scan is £95, and Platinum is £195. Every price is on one page, the same at all five practices — see the price list.

Which practice is nearest me?

Cheadle and Heald Green for south Manchester and north Cheshire; Middleton for north Manchester, Rochdale and Oldham; Winsford for Mid-Cheshire; Heckmondwike for West Yorkshire. The locations page lists every town, and you’re welcome at any of them.

Can I book online?

Yes — every practice and every appointment type, and you see the next free slot before you choose. If you’d rather talk to a person first, ring us; a member of the team answers.

What does “The Modern, Authentic Optician” mean?

Modern means using the best tools and knowledge to understand you better: 45-minute eye tests, 3D OCT, gland imaging for dry eye. Authentic means genuinely taking the time to listen — the trusted family optician of the past, with today’s equipment. Read our story →

What if I don’t get on with my new glasses?

You tell us, and we put it right. Within sixty days of collecting them you can choose an alternative frame or lenses at no charge — our Love Your Glasses Guarantee. Adjustments and a Specs MOT are free for as long as you wear them.
