Italian craft, quietly confident. No logo needed.
The house weave, used on frames as a woven wire core and textured details.
Michele Taddei and Renzo Zengiaro founded Bottega Veneta (“Venetian workshop”) in Vicenza in 1966. Its best-known technique is intrecciato, where strips of leather are woven together into a soft but strong material.
For years the house did not use a visible logo, and its slogan was “When your own initials are enough”. Gucci bought the brand in 2001 and it is now part of Kering. Louise Trotter is the creative director, and Kering Eyewear makes the eyewear.
