Swiss jewellers since 1860. Diamonds that dance, now in eyewear.
Luxury Chopard glasses & sunglasses, chosen with you and fitted to your prescription by hand at our practices across Manchester, Cheshire and West Yorkshire.
The “dancing diamond” idea from the 1976 watch, carried into eyewear as moving or set stones on the frame.
Louis-Ulysse Chopard set up his watch workshop in the Swiss Jura village of Sonvilier in 1860. In 1963 the business was bought by Karl Scheufele, a goldsmith and watchmaker from Pforzheim in Germany, and the Scheufele family still owns and runs it today.
In 1976 Chopard launched Happy Diamonds, with loose diamonds moving freely between two sapphire crystals. Since 1998 it has been the official partner of the Cannes Film Festival and makes the Palme d’Or trophy. Its eyewear has been made under licence by De Rigo since the 2005 collection.
