Germany · since 1970
German titanium, made for faces that are hard to fit.
On the shelf in Winsford and Heckmondwike. Every frame glazed here with your lenses.
The house
Hans Stepper started making frames in Germany in 1970 and built the company on one obsession: fit. Stepper frames come in more sizes and bridge widths than almost any other house, in titanium and in TX5, a light, flexible, hypoallergenic material Stepper developed for people who react to other plastics. They are not loud frames. They are the ones people come back to for a second and third pair because they simply never hurt.
Known for
More sizes, bridges and temple lengths than most houses
Light, flexible, hypoallergenic, colour that lasts
Engineered rather than styled
Anyone who has struggled to find a frame that sits right, narrow or wide faces, low bridges, sensitive skin, and children who need a frame that survives school.
A name on the frame does not mean it will suit your face. We bring you a shortlist rather than a wall, and we say gently when one does not work.
Try them on
Free on the NHS if you qualify, £55 privately. Forty-five minutes with the optometrist, and styling is part of the visit, not an extra.
Every Stepper frame is glazed here. Single vision from £109, thinner lenses, coatings and varifocals explained with every price shown before you decide.
If the fit or the lenses are not right, we change the frame or the lenses at no charge. Adjustments and a Specs MOT are free for as long as you wear them.
Frames across our ranges run from £70 to £850. 0% finance: half today, the rest over 4, 6, 8 or 10 months.

Then we will say so, kindly, and show you what does. A name on the frame does not mean it will suit you; that is the first thing we say about every brand. And if you buy and change your mind within sixty days, we change the frame or the lenses at no charge.
